Bedfordshire has a wide and varied musical programme with opportunities for students to take part in orchestras, bands, youth opera, festivals and more.
There are activities for different ages and abilities and these are extremely valuable for the progress of young players.

Weekly activities:
Dunstable Town band. A mixed wind band with woodwind, brass, saxophones and percussion, New members are welcome. No audition necessary but suitable for Grade 5+. Monday 7.30pm (start playing at 7.45pm) – 9.30pm. Mill Vale Middle School, Wilbury Drive. Dunstable Town second band isimed at beginners or those wishing to re-visit playing an instrument. All are welcome, especially young people who would like to progress to the main band. Rehearsals: Monday 7.00 pm to 7.30 pm, Mill Vale School. Houghton Regis Star Strings meets every Thursday at Tithe Farm Lower School, Houghton Regis between 3.30 – 4.30pm under the direction of Mrs Larissa Felce. With an emphasis on fun and enjoyment, the group is aimed at beginners and those at the early stages of learning. Term time only. Open to all. Contact 0300 300 6604 to find out more.
The South Bedfordshire Youth Voices is a vocal group aimed at students at middle or upper school, which meets at Southcott Lower school in Leighton Buzzard between 6.15 and 7.45pm during term time Thursday under the expert direction of Mrs Susan Cox. Call 0300 300 6604 for further details.
The South Bedfordshire Sinfonia is an advanced string ensemble that meets during term time Monday under the direction of Ms Jane Wheeler at Cedars Upper school in Leighton Buzzard.
