The National Music Plan

In November 2011, the Government published the “The Importance of Music” a national plan for music education.  It sets out a central vision for schools, arts and education organisations to drive excellence in music education.  Its aspiration is to create a system that encourages everyone, whatever their background, to enjoy music and help those with real talent to flourish.

A key part of the plan is the introduction of music hubs.  Hubs will be expected to form strong partnerships with  schools, music organisations, practitioners, local authorities  and communities to provide quality music education.

We have been appointed by the Arts Council England as the music hub for Central Bedfordshire.  We believe we are well placed to deliver the plan’s aims. With your help, we want to identify which areas would best meet the CPD needs of your school. Have your say.
