Summer music course, 2019

Open to young carers within Central Bedfordshire – upper KS2, KS3 and KS4.

Through running a 4 day workshop and inviting young carers within Central Bedfordshire, we would like to provide an opportunity for young carers to take a break from their caring responsibilities, spend time with other young carers and be creative using digital music and developing their song writing skills.

Times: 10am until 3pm each day.
Venue: The Grove Theatre, Dunstable

Easter music course, 2019

Open to all children particularly targeting the Dunstable and Houghton Regis areas – upper KS2 and KS3

Students will have the opportunity to explore instruments on a carousel (guitar, drums, keyboards and vocals) and have dedicated time to create and develop their own material to contribute to the end project, in this case a song that can be recorded or performed.

Times: 10am until 3pm each day.

Super Strings - Saturday 30 March and Sunday 31 March 2019

Students will have the chance to develop their all-round musical skills through improvising from chord symbols, playing on acoustic and electric strings and learning most of the material by ear, though notation will be available for those who wish. This is a fun, versatile group which offers various musical activities throughout the course.

Bedfordshire Music Trust Chamber Music Course provides an opportunity for students to play in small ensembles including string trios and quartets, woodwind and brass chamber ensembles. There are no auditions. Individual students can apply and they will be placed in a group with others of similar standard. Under the experienced leadership of Jan Kaznowski.

Spotlight concert

I am trying organise another spotlight concert in the summer term at St. Andrews Church in Ampthill on Saturday 7 July 2018.

If you have not heard of this type of event before it is a concert aimed at giving players and singers of all ages (including adults) and levels of ability the chance to take centre stage either as a soloist or as part of a small ensemble. It has always been a popular event and those taking part either as performers or in the audience have enjoyed the experience.
