    We schedule times around the academic year, but anyone can use a centre - they're open to people of all ages and standards, from beginner upwards, with a wide range of opportunities to develop musicianship and playing skills. For most people, music has its greatest impact when played with others.

    Timetable

    9:30am to 10:10am

    • Concert band in the Drama Studio - wind and brass players of all levels and abilities are welcome to attend. Group will include music of all genres and standards, to ensure students are having a challenge as well as some less challenging music to play.
    • Junior Music in Practice Room 1 - Ukuleles, Recorders, Ocarinas and Voice. Ideal for students who are interested in starting music and their musical career. Variety of music covered and songs learnt.
    • Guitars in Room 96 - guitar players of any ability. Students can pick the songs they want to learn and chords are taught alongside learning the song.
    • Music Explorations in Room 94 - ideal for beginners. this group explores music in different ways and enables students to create their own music.

    10:10am to 10:50am

    • Concert band in the Drama Studio - wind and brass players of all levels and abilities are welcome to attend. Group will include music of all genres and standards, to ensure students are having a challenge as well as some less challenging music to play.
    • Junior Music in Practice Room 1 - Ukuleles, Recorders, Ocarinas and Voice. Ideal for students who are interested in starting music and their musical career. Variety of music covered and songs learnt.
    • Work in Progress in Room 96 - contemporary music. Any instrument, performing popular songs of student’s choices.
    • Hand chimes in Room 95 - ideal for beginners, but available for anyone wanting to join in.
    • Theory Group in Room 94 - ideal for students of any ability. Learn music theory to work towards your next grade and develop your musical understanding.

    10:50am to 11:10am

    Break with refreshments. Tuck shop in the Drama Studio.

    11:10am to 11:50am

    • Swing Band in the Drama Studio - any level and instrument. Performing jazz, blues and swing music across the eras.
    • Musical Theatre in Room 96 - ideal for students who enjoy singing. A choir who perform Musical Theatre songs, with the option of adding dance and acting if students want to.
    • String Group in Room 95 - students of all abilities welcome. Group will include music of all genres and standards, to ensure students are having a challenge as well as some less challenging music to play.

    11:50am to 12:30pm

    • Concert orchestra - brass sectional in the Drama Studio. Students of any ability. Whole orchestra rehearsal performing various genres. Break off into brass sectional to rehearse in groups.
    • Concert orchestra - wind sectional in Practice Room 1. Students of any ability. Whole orchestra rehearsal performing various genres. Break off into wind sectional to rehearse in groups.
    • Concert orchestra - string sectional in Room 96. Students of any ability. Whole orchestra rehearsal performing various genres. Break off into string sectional to rehearse in groups.
    • Keyboards in Room 95 - ideal for beginners. Learn to play simple piano pieces to perform in the concerts.

    Joining a centre

    You can visit an Inspiring Music Centre for a free session, have a look around, speak to the tutors, listen to the music and generally make sure you are comfortable with the set up, before signing up to join.

    Parking

    The gates are open from 9:15am allowing time for people to be dropped off and to park. There is ample parking in the playground at the school.

    Where to go on arrival

    If you are coming to the centre for the first time, please go to the main doors and then through to XX and then speak to a member of the Inspiring Music team who will show you around the venue and where the group sessions take place.

    Refreshments

    There is a break from 10:50am to 11:05am. In the break, there is a tuck shop and hot refreshments for parents and staff.

    The coffee shop remains open from 10:50am through to 12:30pm, so parents can come and have a chat.
