BLMK Music Hub Battle of the Bands – Regional Final

Thursday 19 March saw an incredible display of talent at The Stables in Milton Keynes for the first ever BLMK Music Hub Battle of the Bands regional final.

Young musicians from Bedfordshire, Luton, Milton Keynes and Bedford Borough took to the stage after progressing through local heats - and the energy was amazing!

Students were given a true artist experience from the moment they arrived, with full sound checks, professional lighting and photography, and the chance to perform on a renowned stage in front of a packed audience.

The atmosphere was full of encouragement, support and real camaraderie, with young musicians cheering each other on and celebrating every performance. It was a brilliant showcase of talent from across the region.

Representing Central Bedfordshire were:

• Avenida – Queensbury Academy

• Life Before Seatbelts – Harlington Upper School

• Dynasty – Vandyke Upper School

All three bands gave outstanding performances and did themselves and their schools, incredibly proud.

Huge congratulations to Edith Dog from Bedford Modern School, who were crowned this year’s winners, and to LYRA from Luton, who took a well‑deserved second place.

It was a fantastic evening celebrating the rising musical talent across BLMK - and a brilliant reminder of the bright futures ahead for so many young musicians.
